Account data: Your name, email address, and password (securely hashed). You can also sign in with Google or Apple.

Skin profile: Your quiz answers — skin type, concerns, sensitivities, medications, lifestyle, goals, and treatment history. This is health information used solely to personalize your experience.

Photos: Progress photos you choose to upload, and ingredient-list photos you capture during scanning. These are stored privately in your account.

Scan data: Barcodes you scan and ingredient lists you photograph or type, used to analyze products for your skin.

Usage data: Aggregate, non-identifiable events like quiz completion, scan success, and feature usage — used to improve the app. We do not track your specific skin conditions, ingredients, or health details in analytics.

Your skin profile is sensitive health information. By completing the skin quiz, you consent to Barely Theory collecting and using your answers to generate personalized product analyses, routines, and recommendations.

We do not share your health information with third parties. It is stored securely and is visible only to you (and administrators for quality assurance). You can delete your skin profile and all associated data at any time from Settings.

Camera: We request camera access only when you tap "Scan" to scan a barcode or photograph an ingredient list. We do not access your camera at any other time.

Progress photos: Any photos you upload to track your skin journey are stored privately in your account. You can delete individual photos or all photos at any time.

When you use the "Explore" feature to find nearby skincare providers, we use your approximate location to show relevant results. We do not store your location history.

You can enable notifications for routine reminders, appointment prep, aftercare guidance, and product restocks. You can manage or disable notifications at any time in Settings.

Your data is linked to your unique account ID and is completely separate from every other user's data. No other user can see your skin profile, routines, photos, scans, or appointments. When you log out and create a different account, you start with a completely fresh experience — no information carries over.

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time
• Download a copy of your data from Settings
• Delete individual photos, progress entries, or your entire account permanently
• Manage permissions for camera, location, and notifications

To exercise these rights, visit Settings → Data Management or Account → Delete Account.

Barely Theory is intended for users 18 years of age or older, or 13+ with parental consent. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

Barely Theory is an educational tool, not a medical device. We do not diagnose, treat, or cure any skin condition. All product analyses, ingredient evaluations, and recommendations are educational. Always consult a licensed dermatologist for medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes within the app. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
